Below is an assortment of items that will improve your vinyl experience. Check back on this page regularly for video reviews on these items, as well as tips and tricks for their uses. I use all of the items posted here, and if I find they don’t work for me I won’t recommend them to you. (Under construction)
A record cleaning brush.
If you think the record skipping is nostalgic, you can skip this piece of gear. Pops and clicks equal a “vintage” sound and you’re not interested in getting into the groove, and that’s okay.
For the rest of us, there are brushes to clean the large debris from our records. Use this brush before playing to reduce audible pops and clicks that are caused by your stylus coming in contact with dust in the grooves of your records.
See all of these tools in action on Virgin Vinyl Sunday, almost every Sunday at 5 PST.
The video was recorded of me cleaning an album on my record cleaner. There’s an article coming soon of my take on record cleaners and associated equipment.
